My Search-Fu is weak. What Apple TV allowed 1080p AirPlay?

What’s the earliest Apple TV that can Airplay 1080p resolution? Thanks.

Pretty sure my AppleTV 4 (later renamed to AppleTV HD) can do it, but I would look for some other confirmation.

That corresponds to what I see in MacTracker, although MacTracker doesn't say this explicitly. It supports that resolution, it supports codecs at that resolution, etc.

It looks to me that it was the Apple TV 3 was actually the one released on March 2012:

The ATV2 was only 720p.

Airplay is an innie protocol, allowing hd on atv2, and reducing output to 720.
