part 1 here: http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/368228
if you had SunRocket and still have the VOIP box, here is what you can do with it:
1-you can unlock it and use it with a different VOIP provider (or a SIP service, but limited to in-network calls)
2-you can sell it on eBay. Prices go from a few bucks to maybe 15-20 bucks.
3-if options 1 and 2 are not appealing to you, and you are about to add that to your local land fill
, well, you can save the Earth and give it to me. I will gladly pay for shipping and handling.
Here is my plan:
I got two devices form two different fellow members, and I want to thank them again very much for their effort. I was able to unlock both devices, and I got them working with a SIP account from https://my.sipphone.com/. I am able to make in-network calls, and I believe with SIP broker I should also be able to call other VOIP networks, but this is not a priority at this point and I did not try it. Another free SIP provider is Free World Dialup http://www.freeworlddialup.com/. Anyway, I have 2 devices, if I can get 2 more, than I will set up a 4-party call network, me, my parents, my in laws and my sister. We talk a lot abroad, and even though the rate is 10-15 cents per minute, it quickly adds up when you talk several hours per week like we do. So you would be doing me a great favour by donating your unused SunRocket VOIP box, if you don't plan to use it or sell it on eBay.
Thanks
