Blood pressure strangeness (to me)

[quote macnut]d. Lightheadedness on standing is also a symptom to report.
Really? I thought postural hypotension was normal in fit people. Perhaps especially in fit people.

[quote PeterB]To add to what's been said -- unfortunately, the home monitoring devices can be quite inaccurate. I just went in to my MD for a routine visit, and he took my BP while I was there-- quite a bit lower than what I was getting from my home machine... and it's one of the better ones, supposed to be very accurate.
I would say that if you don't take your home device to the doctor's office and compare readings directly (several times), you don't really have any data to tell you whether it is accurate or not. I took my Omron in and had the nurse take readings about 3 times, alternating with me taking readings. They were all pretty close.

davester, we weren't even talking remotely close. And I'd just taken it shortly before going in.
