iLivingWill free; normally $5

I haven't had a chance to try this out yet, but it looks like it might be good.

As I'm sure you all know by now, creating a Living Will is a very good idea. It was very comforting for me to have as my parents approached the end of life - I knew I was doing what they wanted when they couldn't speak for themselves.

Disclaimer: guess who hasn't made one yet?

I wish they had that as a Mac app for free.

Ammo,

A current completed living will is one of the key documents _everyone_ should have in a safe location. It's nice the app lets you create one. My only concern is security. Does the app send anything to the publisher or does it store the data solely on your phone? That and I'd love to see what the hardcopy output looks like since it's unlikely an "iphone" version will be accepted by anyone.

iDie Lite is for free, but it only helps if you're mostly dead. If you're all dead, you need to cough up $5 for the full version (apologies to Miracle Max).

I'll try to download it and take it a look at it. I am not sure most folks need an app for this, and it may tend to make it seem more complicated than it is. Most states should offer up a free version on the web somewhere.

The core idea is to select someone to make medical decisions for you if you lack capacity. That person should know what you want. Anything you write down can help, but in the end the decisions are made by people and the situations are usually complicated and involve discussion.

But I agree that everyone should have a document like this signed and ready.
