Did you know cheetahs ride shotgun?

For you Ohioans *(:>*

The Cincinnati Zoo has a traveling version of its Cat Ambassador Program where zoo trainers bring a cheetah and several "smaller" cats to local schools. And that means road trips. But not in a cage. Nope. When these cheetahs go out on the town, they ride shotgun.

I remember reading abut cheetahs being royal pets for many rulers. Apparently they are trainable. Tho I wouldn't leave one alone with the chihuahua.

Can't have Ohioans flipping out
let the cheetah drive.
To the wilds of Washington
and be granted release

When I was kid growing up in the SF Bay Area, I had some friends out in the Diablo Valley area that knew a guy that had some big cats that rode shotgun... when I finally saw it for myself, I didn't know whether to run and hide, or pet 'em. Red '65 Mustang (equine) w/ a feline co-pilot. Couldn't hide from that.

Thank goodness they don't seatbelt the kitty.
It might be trapped in the vehicle in an accident and die.

Good to see they have their priorities straight.

I'm thinking that Jalopnik really sucks. First - the writer doesn't bother to find out why the zoo does this. I'm sure there is some reasoning behind it that might have been appropriate to include.

Then I clicked on the article "This Ghost Ship Drifted Three Years And 3,500 Miles Without A Crew" only to find out that the ship is a crappy 26-foot boat. Really?
