Other World Computing - 10 years ago?
#1
I'm probably remembering this incorrectly but...

Does anyone remember the company that sold use Macs about 10 years ago? They always advertised in MacUser and MacWorld. Thier logo was some crazy elf or something holding a globe.

Trans world computing?

I dunno...any ideas?

Wasn't that Shreve Systems, the most consistently overpriced Mac vendor of all time?

I was gonna say Shreve got somewhat better with their pricing but as I scrolled down the page....

Quadra 800 - 8MB RAM / No Hard Drive ONLY! $89.00
PowerMac 8500/180 - $149

Oh well....

Get a PowerMac 9500/132 16/1GB/CD/ATI for $2099! Okay, it's a refurb, but...

Are you thinking of Bottom Line Distributing?

Shreve was a consistently good source for parts, but they were also consistently overpriced. I actually bought a Mac Plus power board from them once (after the dreaded high voltage capacitor meltdown).
