The tipping point moment was the GOP weaponizing the opposition to the Clinton health care plan of 1993. Clinton health care plan of 1993 and flipping a massive number of seats in 1994. They had an uninterrupted Executive control for 12 long years and they found something to coalesce around.
Stick Newt's picture here for sure.

Look for the chin that goes with that arm. Seems like someone small reaching over the woman, you can see the blouse, sweater, or whatever they're wearing. The arm is just awkwardly reaching over the goat in the pink hat.

The fight for healthcare or immigration or “the economy” or whatever are all sideshows compared to what’s at stake here. It’s not that I think Trump is president “because of Russia.” But when half of the electorate doesn’t seem to care that he could be president because of another country’s influence, we have a critical error that supersedes all the rest.

Most of them care. They just feel small and inadequate. They've figured out some way to make things work for them on levels that make sense to them. They look to themselves to build up their lives. They blame themselves when things don't work out. Some people are spoiled and take what we have for granted, becoming angry, bitter and entitled. Elizabeth Warren is the best at demonstrating how we're all interwoven into the fabric of a representational, governmental society in ways that can be surprising to people. Obama was good at that too. People like to feel included in certain ways. My first job was a CETA Program job when I was a teen. The best part was when I got my paycheck, it said "United States of America." That was very meaningful to me. It was like the country was investing in me in South Los Angeles. My next exclamation was "WTF is FICA????" People give us easily in this country. Clippers coach Doc Rivers stated it perfectly last week: "Everyone says they want to win. It's B.S. Most people want to win as long as they can do whatever they want to do. Everything has to be perfect for them. But you have to sacrifice something to win." - Doc Rivers |
