qBittorent annoyance

Every time I download anything to my Downloads folder, I get two successive popups asking to give permission to the app to access the folder. I've already given the app access to this folder in Settings. Is there anyway to fix this other than having the app monitor another folder for torrent files and dragging the torrent files from Downloads to the other folder? I don't use the app very often but it's getting annoying.

Go to System Settings => Privacy & Security => Folders & Files - see if you can correct the problem there.

Did that months ago. Doesn't help. I found a command to use in Terminal that may have fixed it.
