Hey everyone,
Just sitting here in the Baltimore-Washington airport waiting for my flight back up north after a glorious run in the Marine Corps Marathon. The weather was absolutely perfect for a marathon (high 50s, low 60s, sunny and sometimes overcast). If you have plans on running a first marathon, I strongly suggest signing up for Marine Corps. The course is (more or less) flatter than a pancake, and there is a supremely energetic feel the whole day, with runners traversing most of the tourist destinations in D.C. proper. The only downside is that there are some sections (I'd say 10-15% worth) that have no, or almost no, spectators. My folks got to see me run today, and I ran a (surprisingly) good bit faster than my first marathon (Boston--which many of you helped me fundraise for--thanks again!!), coming in with a time just a hair under 3 hours and 22 minutes. I may just quit while I'm ahead and start working on that beer belly, but we'll see.
Cheers!
