WPA2 in OS X Tiger
#1
I got a new WiFi router, and I decided to use WPA or WPA2. My old router only supported WEP and I know that WEP can be hacked very easily.

I set the router to use WPA2 encryption, but when I connect from the Airport icon in the menu bar, the only choice I have is WPA. Of course it does NOT work.

It turns out that WPA2 choice is hidden in the System Preferences -> Network -> Show: Airport -> then select Airport tab -> then "By default Join Preferred Networks" and then select one I want and click EDIT. Then you got lots of choices, WEP 3 choices, LEAP, WPA personal and Enterprise, WPA2 personal and enterprise, and 802.1X WEP.

So why is WPA2 hidden there?

The other question is: my router has some choices that OS X does not have:

PSK / EAP: PSK or EAP
Cipher Type: TKIP or AES or Auto

What do I choose? thanks
