You can put things on hold from other branches and shipped to your local branch for pickup......

who needs to pay for netflix when you can rent dvds for free.......

that item you borrowed is due tomorrow? you can renew on-line so it won't be late........

Havent been to the library in years. A great resource, yes I would have to agree. But some libraries still have only VHS and cassettes. Wink

The co-operative library system in Suffolk County, NY is great. I borrow DVDs, BlueRays and audio CDs all the time. If my local branch doesn't have a title I want, another branch usually does and will send it to my branch for me. Before I buy a book, I'll borrow it first to make sure I really want to own it. Virtually all TV series are available on DVD / BlueRay after the season's over. I don't miss not having paid TV at home; I watch for free at my convenience, all without commercials!

Jebus! Seattle charges a quarter a day for all overdue material, even digital media.

yeah, but you pay for it with all those rainy days, where you are forced to read the same book over and over again.

how many times can you really read The Twilight series?

We use our library to rent DVDs. However, most of the time they look as if they've been taped to the bottom of someone's shoes and then slid across a sidewalk.

Newt- Agreed. Our library is awesome.. we can call on materials from all the libraries within about a hundred miles. And the feel of a library.... mmmmm... Takes me back to my nerdy youth, when the library was the best refuge of the highly literate, intelligent, and decidedly un-athletic me. I damn near lived there.

(I have since become more illiterate and unintelligent..)
