Siri's uselessness at least makes me laugh
#11
Voice command used to get everything wrong on my iPhone 4—it was awful—but I find Siri's accuracy to be very satisfactory on the 5...if your expectations are within reason.

Asking for dog food gives me restaurants too. But let's be honest, when someone asks for food, they are going to be looking for people food 99% of the time. Asking for pet food DOES list the nearest pet stores. If I need a rubber washer for my garden hose, I will ask for hardware stores, not "rubber washers."

No, it's not perfect, but I find it to be really valuable. It's given me some quick, accurate results that came in handy at times when googling wasn't practical.

"It is I who should be thanking you."

That's the one I got the other day.

"Siri, where can I get rubber washers?"

"It is not advisable to re-use prophylactics."

I find it very useful as long as I phrase my questions in a relatively simple manner. I still couldn't get it to open the pod bay doors though. It's response was "Say pretty please".

Siri has got to be the most frustrating thing that Apple has released since eWorld. My Poochie was out of dog food this morning. I asked Siri where I can pick up some dog food and this was her response...

That was an accurate response.

This was very funny!

:-)

Thanks for putting a smile on my face!

I dunno... I asked Siri twice about it, and the second time, she got it right:

... maybe it's because I've got Siri talking to me in a sexy Australian accent? Big Grin
