Followup to: this stuff is great, but can I find cheaper elsewhere?

The scar strips (aka silicone tape) really DO work for reducing the appearance of scars, but the "catch" is that you have to wear them regularly for an extended period to see an effect ... usually a minimum of 4-6 weeks. Also, they don't work nearly so well on already-formed, old scars, rather than newly formed ones.

I'm willing to at least try for the neck surgery.

Followup: I can now say for sure that the blue stuff does NOT stay on as long as the regular flesh-colored stuff -- it stayed on for two days, then showed signs of coming off, whereas the flesh-colored stuff would easily stay on longer. (Though admittedly, I put the blue stuff on a part of the body with a lot of hair, and obviously that'll make it harder for it to adhere to the skin... and also there's the fact that if it's on a part of the body where clothing will frequently rub against it, that might also affect the adhesion.)

All this being said, two days is still probably good enough for my purposes. I'm tempted to try the clear stuff to see how that compares.
