do you work in a lab? do you se acetone or other solvents? what eye-droppers do you use?

I had some Schott-Duran that seemed great, but I cannot find a source anymore. I called 4-5 different companies and they either don't carry, or they could order it from Germany, but it's like 50 bucks a bottle, and they come in cases of 12.

I ordered some cheaper eye-dropper bottles form McMaster Carr, but they seem to leave residue after a few days. I think the acetone dissolves the plastic pump or cap.

What do you use? My application requires super clean acetone, cleaning high power laser optics.

Would a squirt-bottle work (designed for acetone) or do you need more precise control of volume? You can get these from fisher scientific:

Or this one, designed for solvents:

yeah, I have those, but they seem to leak. And I suspect they also leave some residue, even though it may be small quantities. I would prefer glass, since the optics has to be 100% clean. I use HPLC solvents.

Pasteur pipettes plus a rubber bulb?

Hamilton syringe?

Those would be my thoughts...

For electronics cleaning, I use one of these (Menda brand) filled with 2-propanol and Swab-its brand foam tipped swabs.

You could easily use acetone with the same set up.
