Replacing Corporate Blackberry - which smartphone do I go with?
#1
My current Blackberry is having major hardware issues. Our plan is with T-mobile and I have the following options:

Blackberry 9360
HTC MyTouch 4G
Samsung Galaxy 4G (i believe that it's actually the Galaxy S 4G)

IMO, the only thing that the blackberry has going for it is battery life. From what I understand, our plan includes the hotspot feature, which is supported by both the HTC and the Samsung. I'm leaning away from the blackberry due to small screen, old model, old OS, limited features, etc. Any recommendations or things to consider with any of the phones?

Does your corporation support Android and/or iOS?

Don't make the change without that support.

Not an option. Service provider is limited to Tmobile. Company buys the phone.

As these are the phones that IT gave as options and from what I have gotten in talking to others, IT is now supporting Android. There is a real concern that Blackberry may be dead in the near future. On top of that, users are getting really fed up with the outages and other issues with Blackberry.

Why? Only thing that it has going for it is battery life. It has a small screen, doesn't handle the reading of attachments very well. Currently, I wind up forwarding attachments to my iPhone so that I can read them. The OS seems very outdated and clunky. The 9360 won't support the next RIM OS if and when it's released. IMO, it seems like the device of last choice.

Sounds like either Android phone will be great for you.

I'd try them out in a store - size, touch response, etc can differ and be a personal preference.

Are you kidding? RIM is dead and their phones suck.

I'd rather use two tin cans and a taught string than anything Android.
