Anyone here going to buy a $249 Chromebook?

We got ours last week for my wife's use primarily. Thus far we've been very happy with it.

I think the main reason to get one of these over a tablet is the keyboard. Having that allows you to compose lengthy documents/emails/forum replies ;-) that you wouldn't on a tablet.

This device is not the best for watching videos, playing games, editing photos etc.

The screen is passable, the keyboard is way better than other netbooks, and the battery life is great. Having no fan & no heat makes this one different than the older Intel based Chromebooks and it also keeps it slim & light.

BTW, it plays flash based youtube HD videos with no problem.

Well, I stopped by our local BB tonight and they did not have any ChromeBooks. They said a store 15 minutes from me should have them, but they were not sure if they would be getting them at our store or not. Very odd, and probably why BB is not doing well these days.
