site license question
#1
My work uses Windows based machines. If I get a new laptop (Mac of course) will I be able to use the office site license for my Mac version of Word. So I guess my question is are site licenses cross platform?

It varies tremendously from one item to the next.

Almost certainly not.

Do you have a person/department in charge of deploying software? Perhaps they'll surprise you with a site license for Word/Office for Mac.

They likely have a Microsoft Select license...and typically when 'Office' (always) is on the list...both platforms are covered.

Find out who your software acquisition person is, as they'll have the media handy too.

Maybe. But then again, maybe it's an enterprise agreement.

Possibly. Yes...I have it...know it...have major contracts under three of their licensing programs. (I handle these contracts for my entity).

at least ask. When I got a new mac at work, i asked, and they didn't have a site license for mac office. But they did have an old copy of Office 4.2.1, which allowed me to get an upgrade, vs a full version. Way cheaper.
