Wouldn't you agree that removing the gun from the scene ENTIRELY - before anyone is shot would end in the best case scenario?

I can't disagree in theory, but it sounds like you are talking a total gun ban, which isn't going to happen. And for a lot of reasons, I don't think it should happen. I don't think you often see that type of solution batted around for other problems. Alcohol is an enormous problem. Banning it? We all know how well prohibition worked. Cars kill a lot of people. Banning cars? Only Black would suggest such a thing ;-). Today a girl was killed from inhaling helium. Ban helium! It's a lot more complicated that that. kj.
