Why doesn’t Apple support multi stream transport for external monitors?

Per the Wikipedia, MST is part of the DisplayPort 1.3 standard circa 2014. Thunderbolt 3 was supposed to include DisplayPort 1.3 capability, but the final release shipped with version 1.2.
So, it's a limitation of the Thunderbolt spec. Blame Intel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort#1.3 |
