Have you tried reaching out to Tactile and see what they have to say?
Basically, that trouble-shooting list is the same regardless of where I search. I've also turned off anything that any site lists as to what drains battery life. The only thing I haven't tried is a factory reset.
Some people are complaining about these two games on the app store -- but since they aren't required to give any information it's mostly "this game crashes all the time" and vague complaints like that, which don't really tell me much.
I should say Thank You to all of you for your input. I'm feeling kind of cranky about it at this point which may be obvious. Sorry.
