It used to annoy me when people randomly said SNL wasn't funny anymore

I agree the quirky character skits are not often funny once the basics of the character are fleshed out. But man, do you know the Church Lady Christmas skit where she rearranges the word SANTA to read SATAN, and then plays the drums...well?

I laugh at Stefon. I still enjoy their fake news. It's gotten harder to sit through the show waiting for the fake news and recently I simply haven't bothered.

I caught the second half of the show and what I saw was pretty good.
I =always= love watching Kristen, even when she bombs.
Simple solution if the show's not up to your standards.

A few of the players are very talented and Kristen Wiig is definitely one of them. I think the writing is often weak, which is too bad because when it's working I still enjoy the show quite a bit. Problem is that I find it way harder to sit through the duds nowadays. Maybe that's age or something.

But admit it, you always watch the opening.

If they did the Harry Potter skit with Linsdsey Lohan as Hermione that would have been better.

They did, a number of years ago when the movie came out after the actress playing Hermione "blossomed" http://www.kontraband.com/videos/1344/Li...ry-Potter/

It just means you're getting old.

Other things you are probably saying:

"Kids today! Can you believe it!"

"I never had a cell phone when I was your age!"

"In the snow! Uphill! Both ways!"

"Whattayamean 'what's a slide rule'?"

Tivo!

I watch the SNL opening and then skip through, stopping at skits with performers I'm likely to appreciate. I always at least start watching the song performer and then typically skip through it, then settle in at the fake news.

It usually takes me 20 min to watch SNL on Sunday morning.
