Well, I just looked on my printed coupon and my online coupon and both say it excludes Breville, Dyson, and some other name brands, but maybe they will honor it anyway.

I have like 6 of them and they all exclude Breville.

Darn! That must be something new. We bought our Breville with the coupon about 4 months ago. I can see why they did it since that is some serious profit they're losing and there aren't any other places that discount that item. Oh well, it's still worth the full price IMHO.

If you have an older expired coupon that doesn't have the exclusion they still might accept it since they usually pay no attention to expiration dates, though you should probably go in prepared to pay full price.

Davester,

Agreed. That must be a recent change. I'vegot several coupons that don't have the exclusion. It's too bad yours have it. As crazy as it sounds, the Brevelle is so good I'd pay full price for it without hesitation.

i looked at an old coupon from last year, and it had it also, so at least in my area they have had the exclusion for a while. I have read online that some stores will still take the coupon even on some of the banned items, but I guess I will have to go to the store to see.

I did find the medium sized oven for like $155 at ABT electronics, and I have a $15 off coupon for Newegg that might work for the larger one, so we will see.

At least you guys seem to agree that the Breville is the way to go.

rgC,

Brevelle definitely but I'll only recommend the larger model.

I'm not so sure about that. The reason we have our current Breville is that the door mechanism on our Kitchenaid (like that one) gave out after a few months. I took it back and had it replaced under warranty but the replacement had the same problem. I'm done with Kitchenaid toaster ovens.

Davester,

I can't speak for Kitchen-Aid but I've always purchased Black and Decker toaster oven-broilers. They've always done a good enough job and held up well over the years. I think only one of them broke and that was due to age. One I bought for an apartment back in the 90s is actually still going strong. I donated it to my office when I found I needed a larger model which is the convection oven I mentioned in a previous post.

The Black and Decker convection oven my wife and i had in our old apartment still works perfectly. We just needed something more capable and went for the Brevelle. The B&D convection oven cost about $50.00 at Macys. While the B&D is good for what it is, it is outclassed by the large Breville in every sense of the word. Much in the same way that the smaller Brevelle likely outclasses it as well.

rgC,

One of the things I like the most about the big Brevelle is that it is actually capable enough to literally replace an oven. That and it doesn't heat up my kitchen nearly as much as the range. Trust me, that's a huge benefit. Right now, I'm cooking chicken breasts in the range and I hate the fact that my kitchen which is adjacent to my living room has warmed up enough to make the living room air conditioner kick into gear. That wouldn't have happened if I was cooking in the Brevelle. (I didn't use the Brevelle because I'm cooking a dozen pieces of chicken at once).

Abt is a local Chicago area business. Been around a LONG time and pretty well respected. I only mention this in case you were hesitant about buying from them.
