Thanks mrp-admin for fixing the bug, but as M A V I C mentioned, semicolin+paren is now broken and should be a standard winking smiley.
A ";" with ")" is standard for that.

You've all got a choice. Have it "standard" which is not working because of a HTML code conflict and go back to the way it was with it *occasionally* causing issues with people, or leave it as is, select it through the drop down or remember to put a "-" hyphen between the colon and parentheses.
Which way do you want it ![]()

I definitely prefer the recent change.

The standard smiley graphic is working with the expected code, a colon with paren. It also works inserting a hyphen between the colon and paren, although I wouldn't expect anyone to type that when the normal colon with paren works.
I'm good as-is, even though the old winking smiley graphic is now dead and won't be typing colon-wink-colin to get the new -style winking smiley graphic. ![]()

Never had a problem with them and have used them on occasion, but I don't post nearly as often as some do.

(Or, if you all want, we CAN disable them entirely again).
That gets my vote. I've never used them. I don't use smileys/emoticons. Too often, I've seen them used maliciously; sticking a smiley at the end of an insult does not excuse the insult. I've seen this, too. Definitely not a "tease", though that may apply in some cases. And if we have to live with them, why not remove the "Giving-you-the-finger-f*ck--double f*ck-you thing." I very seldom see a context where "f*ck you" is a fun, friendly, acceptable tease. The phorum won't let me write "fuck you" so why allow the juvenile symbology? I do ok with words. That's why I won't use emoticons. If we can have them, can't we have the verbal equivalent? If I want to tell somebody to f*ck off, why can't I be direct instead of using symbology? Just askin'.

![]() Too bad this one is dead now.
