apple tv2--how to "[c]opy zip file to /private/var/mobile/Media folder"
#1
per step 3 found at http://www.appletvhacks.net/2011/03/02/h...pple-tv-2/

it appears that the "/private/var/mobile/Media" folder is on the atv2, not on my hard drive, which i did not understand when i began this post a few days ago: http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1...sg-1304107. (thanx, again, to hal, seacrest and lux interior for their assistance in that thread).

my goal is to get access to hulu+ on the atv2. if anyone knows another way to do this, i'd appreciate the coaching. the hack provided above appears temporary, at best. i have notebooks on the same network, the latest version of atv flash, xbmc and hulu+ membership, if that's any help.

two things to try

1) reveal hidden files and folder in Finder. Then drag and drop

2) use the Terminal maybe

thanx, s-t, but i don't have any idea how to navigate to the apple tv device/folders from the finder. can you/anyone direct me or tell me the line command to copy files from my hard drive into the designated atv folder? i knew a few dos commands way back when, but don't recall them now.

I assume your atv2 is jailbroken? And that you've already installed XMBC on it?

Note: it requires you to have your Apple TV 2 already jailbroken with nitoTV, XBMC and openSSH installed.

Once you have done that use Transmit or Syberduck to sftp into the atv2. You can get it's IP address from the settings menu or something like that. Then it's as simple as dragging and dropping the file into the appropriate directory, loading up xbmc and installing the plugin from zip file just like the instructions say.
