Florida congressman upset at Obama for $70 fill-up of his Hummer

U.S. Rep. Allen West, a Florida Republican, has never been any great fan of President Barack Obama, but took to Facebook today to answer the question of what, if anything, he could praise about the president. His answer included a complaint that thanks to rising gas prices, it now costs $70 to fill up his 2008 Hummer H3. Is it really a good idea to use your Hummer to argue gas prices are too high?

Here's the complete statement from Rep. West that's drawing some attention:

What does one thing have to do with the other? Gas prices are high whether someone is filling a Hummer or a Honda CRV. Don't think for a second that Obama wants them lower either.

Anyway, you should be happy that West is a Republican. If someone said "The lack of intelligence and common sense defined" about a black Dem, charges of racism would ensue.

Actually Sir Trouble your comments define more about your sense of what happiness is.

I will defer to your inside knowledge of the big picture *(:>*

edit: Just for the record Sir Trouble Be he Republican or Democrat matters not to me his comments are pretty dumb period *(:>*

edit: Someone will be along shortly to help you with the math of filling up a Hummer that gets 8MPG
and a CRV that gets 30MPG

on a side note, hummer's must have small tanks. when gas is this high it cost $70 to fill up my minivan (20 gallon tank).

of course, I can go about 400 miles on that tank whereas the aforementioned hummer would get about 160.

I really don't think that the President wants high gas prices, not at this time of year. High gas prices will lead to a slowdown of the economy. Come November, a slowed or failing economy will hurt his chances of getting re-elected.

Hummer H3 is built on GM's compact pickup truck chassis which is shared with Canyon /Colorado/ and is EPA rated 16/20 MPG with a 5 cyl engine.
It has a 23 gallon tank.

The Hummer is the poster child of the clueless sheeple who are incapable of thinking for themselves.
