Led Zeppelin - Fool in the Rain gets me. I find my self humming that bass line for days after I hear it.

There was some footage from the Montreux Jazz Festival of Bluer Traveler playing But Anyway. I really enjoyed watching Bobby Sheehan playing bass on that song.

I saw them last summer and was in bass heaven. Popper had a major frog in his throat that night and the band went overboard trying to make up for it.

Here's Gerry and Rory, it's just a simple blues but McAvoy's so deep in the pocket it's scary:

I really like Dee Murray's playing on Elton John's "Tumbleweed Connection."

Graham Mabey was a great mention. He really was good.

I have to mention Abe Laborial, since he always seems to get overlooked and he's truly great. kj.

You know, that is one EJ album that just doesn't get enough love. Still my favorite by him, and it's his only post "Your Sing" album without a hit single.

I agree. And "Madman Across The Water". Then he went pop. GYBR was good but there are a few songs that heralded his transition to Top 40 and that's where I said goodbye...

I'm always impressed at what Elton, Dee and Nigel were able to do at the Troubador or on the 11-17-70 Album, and I'm sure that sound had to have been a big imapct on the Ben Folds Five.

Is there a "Tumbleweed Connection" CD that sounds better than the original CD? The music is so good, but my CD sonic quality is not so good.

I think a lot of people would agree totally with that.
