Need Recommendation for iPhone Holder in car
#1
Son uses these Ram Mounts. Ram X-Grip Mounts, where nothing needs to be glued to the phone, I like that..

But I suppose the other end of the mount would need to be glued to the dash or window.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an iPhone 6s holder in the car that would be in a good location, and that they have been happy.

I have an android phone, but there's no real difference. I have a ProClip base https://www.proclipusa.com/category/car-...ard-mounts and magnetic mount on that https://www.amazon.com/MAGFMB-MagicMount...00I608BFW/ with a plate that is stuck in my case. I've used this for my past few phones and it's been a great setup.

I use https://www.proclipusa.com/ but they are expensive and the phone holders are semi-specific, but I've re-used them when upgrading phones as long as the phone size doesn't vary too much (i.e. I've been using the same one for an iPhone 7 Plus, XS Max and 11).

I've also used the Pro Clip mounts in combination with RAM Mounts. I.e. Pro Clip mount for vehicle specific location and X-Grip for universal phone mounting, or RAM Mount attached to vehicle to Pro Clip phone specific mount.

I use the Pro Clip phone mounts with built-in cable so I just slide the phone in and it's connected and charging. I save a "little" money on upgrades by buying new phone mounts with the lightning cable clip and transferring over the "built-in" cable from the old mount.

Huge fan of ProClipUSA.com for years. FYI-The same holder that fit the iPhone 6Plus with case, has followed me all the way>>> to my new iPhone 12 Pro Max with case. I prefer the one with the lighting connector, so everytime it is mounted, it is charging.

If the car is old enough to have a CD player, I recommend the one Pam suggested a few years ago.

Koomus CD-Air Smartphone holder

If you car's vents are located favorably, we've been very happy w/ this one....

It operates on batteries, or via USB power cable... caveat, for reasons that escape me, batteries don't seem to last long, so we use Eneloops, and keep a spare set handy, in car. USB works when power to car is on, so about the only time the batteries get used is when we forget to take the phone out before shutting off the engine.

That's not surprising. It uses AAA, which are what?, 800-1000mAh @ 1.5V. So if it's using 3-4 AAA batteries, that's probably only enough power to do about 1 full charge of a modern smartphone.

I've avoided such vent mounts because I didn't want to:
1. block the air from the vent
2. have the vent pointed in an undesirable direction just because the phone mount required it
3. risk overheating the phone when heat was coming from vent
