Their installer for Creative Suite 2018 is still 32bit, but all of the apps are 64 bit. So that means if you update to Catalina or above, you cannot reinstall those apps.

Why would we ever doubt Adobe?

This is good news, however - it means the rumors of real speed increases might be true.

What exactly were we doubting?

Dont love the "subscription" thing either -- but its just a part of doing business -- and nowadays s everything software is subscription-based.

But we have all been paying "subscriptions" to things forever. phone bill, gas bill, water bill, electric bill, car insurance... etc etc.

I agree that a subscription model means we should see Adobe quickly respond to hardware and OS changes. After all, if I cannot run their software I am renting on my new toy, I will stop paying them that monthly fee.

My comment is that Adobe will build in self-destructive aspects of their software to force you to update, when literally all of the products I purchased in 2018 work fine on the new OS system - it's only the installer that's broken. PITA.

Oh... yea, in no way shape or form is adobe living up to their "subscriptions are better" mantra

They just made a huge change in how/where files are saved in Indesign -- and its effed me up a few times. And tons of other BS that hasnt changed in years.

They wont get my love either... but there isnt any other choice.

The latest TWIT speculates that there will be some good new competition for Adobe with the new Apple Silicon hardware. I am optimistic.

99.9% of designers use Indesign, and there is no mainstream viable alternative. affinty? nope. Quark? now subscription.

99.9% of photographers use photoshop.

Kinda hard numbers to topple.
