A decent artist could have done wonders with an 8 color set.

Maybe even four colors, à la Dick Tracy.

This is just bad artistry.

The courtroom isn't the place for trying to make it one's brand, or dabbling in impressionism.

They're there because cameras aren't allowed.

That link is great, $tevie.

I hadn't seem much of her work, but had forgotten how good it was, and how much better court room sketching was in general.

He's going to make everybody pay.

He already has.
He's all "that was just the first wave. You're not gonna have any rights left when I'm done. I put cases on all youbitches."
Ding Dong ain’t got nothing on him!

It does seem as if the courtroom artists of today have little to no training. I wonder why that is.

Here's work from one of the greatest: Freda Reiter. But even the lesser talents were better back then.

The earlier artists had yet to be replaced with court TV, more work and practice produced a better result.

Yes. I just watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7Hw9u3mVaM and I imagine that illustrators with talent are turning to more secure forms of illustration employment.
