43 young female rhesus monkeys have escaped a lab in South Carolina
#11

If they can make a movie about it … it can probably happen IRL

"Never been used in experiments" (and what about that bridge? Still for sale in NYC? Cheap??)

These are very young monkeys, not old enough to have been subjected to experiments.

Only one caught by the lab so far.

Run girls!

Celebrating their escape is perhaps premature.

From what I have read, these escaped from a breeding facility that sells animals for research.
These were to be the sale inventory and were not in a position to be experimented on at that facility.

Since these were bred in captivity, they don't have the skillset to fend for themself in the wild especially a wild that is not similar to the species' natural habitat.
They will most likely starve to death or suffer death by misadventure if they are not reacquired.
But since they were to be subjected to experiments and unnatural confinement in the future an early end with the freedom of the outdoors might be argued to be better.

Yes they are in danger either way. There is a place called Monkey Island not far from there which is a refuge for primates, maybe they can get there....

Or people will capture them and keep them as pets.

A few months ago at a grocery store (here in SC, not far from this facility) I saw a man with a female rhesus monkey on his shoulders. She had on a pink shirt and a little backpack . She was also on a leash.

Some were taking photos but nobody working in the store blinked.
