Leopard locks up on sleep
#1
I run a new Mac Pro 2.66 Ghz with 7 gigs of Samsung RAM. I wiped the drive a few weeks ago and did a clean install of Leopard, and then used Migration to bring over my User account. I reinstalled the apps manually.

Ever since then, I the sleep function doesn't work. I can place the mac in sleep mode, but:
1. hitting the keys or moving the mouse won't wake it; only hitting the power button on the tower brings it awake.
2. Once it's "awake" everything is frozen, even the mouse. Command-Option-tilde won't bring up the Force-Quit dialog window. Everything is truly frozen. The only recourse is to hold down the power button for 5 seconds.

I don't have any hacks installed, but I do have run these Sys Prefs:

Default Folder X
Flip4Mac
Growl
iStat Menus
LiteSwitch X
OpenBase
Startup Sound
USB Overdrive

I generally shut things down anyway, and then have it autostart at 4am to run SuperDuper. Just reporting this in case others are also noticing it.

Disconnect all USB and FireWire devices except the keyboard and mouse and see if the issue recurs.

Yeah, that's it all right. It's one of the zillion USB or Firewire devices I use. Could be the EyeTV, but I'm also checking on the scanner. I don't use any hubs, only additional USB and FW cards in the back, but the problem is somewhere in those. Thanks for that suggestion.
