Trying to see if I need a new airport or card. Question about network detection.
#1
My airport connection failed at my old basement place. I now have a new isp and want to see if airport or card is not working. I forgot how to see if there are signals. Used to know how to detect wireless networks. Forgot how. Used to be able to get list of networks. How did I do that??

MacStumbler shows signals including airport but computer cannot find server. Does this mean card is bad?

[quote spearmint]MacStumbler shows signals including airport but computer cannot find server. Does this mean card is bad? The Card is good if you are seeing networks.
That is what MacStumbler uses.
Some Questions.:
What is the "Server" you speak of?
Can you "Cable" the laptop to your ISP Modem and it works?
Has it ever worked?
You may be having multiple points of failures, with the limited information I can not advise.
