Wow.... that doesn't seem so good to me. Person I know with 2.16GHz black (xmas 06) has 110 cycles, and mAh is with 10% of mine (which is 5 months / 19 cycles). Mine was 5383mAh new..... and is at 5340 now on full charge (as per System Profiler).

Hers is just below 5000.

I exercise this battery even when I don't have need to, at least for a partial discharge, every two weeks, and if I can, I lower screen brightness to slow the discharge and reduce heat.

If it has only happened once, just chalk it up to "one of those things." If it keeps happening, then you worry.

Yeah, but did you use the info on that page to determine whether or not your battery is eligible for the exchange program?

"Battery exhibits low charge capacity/runtime when using a fully charged battery with a battery cycle count (as shown in System Profiler) of less than 300"

Probably not related to your shutdown issue, but you may get a new battery out of the deal.
