So What Do They Mean By A "Hair"
#1
According to news reports:

As a result of the earthquake in Japan:

1. Friday's magnitude 8.9 earthquake in Japan shifted Earth on its axis and shortened the length of a day by a hair.

2. Data-crunchers had determined that the temblor's force moved parts of eastern Japan as much as 12 feet closer to North America, scientists said — and that Japan has shifted downward about two feet.

She collected it for us ( a couple pervy machine tool tech students), but we were assured it was both genuine, and an average statistical sample

We were HOPING we could do the sample collection ourselves... but as it turned out, we were the wrong gender for her 8-)
Good sport though...
