Bad day in the transit system
#1
Two incidents on the L train. I was going across town on the bus during one of these; it was announced on the bus that there was no L train service due to "police activity".

"In a span of less than 24 hours, four men were killed in an unusual series of unrelated accidents at New York City subway stations over the weekend, including a 22-year-old Long Island man separated from his friends after a night of drinking, authorities said."

How drunk must he have been to go onto the tracks?

I've seen it before. Thankfully he got back on the platform.

Clearly you have not spent any time in Eau Claire or LaCrosse WI.

I was out on a bike ride Saturday night and noticed way, way, way more people close to falling down drunk than I usually see-- walking around, on the train, on the bus, etc.
Guessing it's got something to do with the weather/feeling snowed in, but also wondering if a lighter turnout in the nightlife district caused there to be easier access to the bartender, or caused the servers to push the booze a little harder than usual.
It was definitely extreme, though.

And on that same note, I'll bet you'd find the number of pedestrians hit by cars similarly elevated.
