Rubio backs Jeb Bush for VP
#1
So Rubio thinks Mittens should pick Jeb Bush for VP. This is either a selfless act for the good of his party by the first term senator or a cynical ploy to position himself for 2016. Perhaps Rubio sees Mittens with no chance this year and wants to hang the label of failed VP candidate around Jeb's neck and clear himself for a full presidential run. The arrogant little weasel is incredibly ambitious.

"Selfless act" who am I kidding.

Didn't Bush say that Rubio should be the pick?

Sometimes successful tickets happen when two very similar people team up (Clinton/Gore, for example.)
Just a wild guess based on Romney's personality, I'd expect him to go with someone very experienced in national politics, with solid conservative credentials. A vanilla kind of choice. He's not going to risk another Palin episode.

I think it will be Portman of Ohio or McConnell of Virginia.
Portman has more experience with trade and foreign affairs.
They both want it.

Times change, one of FDR's Veeps declared the the office is "not worth a bucket of warm piss".

If not for the office of Vice President we'd have had no Nixon or Bush Presidencies. Maybe it's time to abolish the office and allow succession to devolve to the Chairman of the Board of Governors of Dow Jones or maybe the US Chamber of Commerce.
