And people wonder why folks worry about actual bacteria and viral research.

I cannot WAIT for the finger pointing when (not if) this gets loose in the US and Europe and starts taking down industrial and infrastructure systems. Infections in distributed control systems have long been mumbled about in industry, but nobody really ever did much about them.

There's an innate assumption in industrial controls engineers that their control panels and monitoring systems are stand alone, just like the mechanical switches and buttons of yesteryear. Oops.

Stuxnet was killed last year when it was learned how it works, is my understanding. But yeah, the Flame thing and others like it are no doubt next. Our infrastructure, as you mention, remains vulnerable.
