Sigma 18-35mm F/1.8 Zoom shipped!
#1
It's on it's way on the slowest delivery van in existence and I can barely wait until it gets here. This becomes only the second thing more than a few $ I've ever bought without ever seeing it (iPad 3 was the first). Based on the reviews, if mine is good it may not leave the camera for more than a few hours per year.

Yes, I do a lot of low light/natural/indoor shooting and will appreciate the extra photons coming my CMOS's way. Previously I was considering the Tamron 18-50 f/2.8 Di II VC which was great (rented from LensRentals) and almost a match for Canon's f/2.8 Zoom of similar length (for twice the price). The shorter zoom in the Sigma is a compromise but is an entirely acceptable tradeoff for the extra brightness. With an 18MP camera, I'm happy to crop.

Too bad they don't have a full frame version. Sounds like a nice lens!

There is no other lens with those specs, this is the first. Which is why I ponied up the dough for it.

Longer zoom range as well but that plus full frame means a lot more glass so it will be verrry expensive.

Right, it'll be heavier and substantially more expensive. But if it's a sharp piece of glass then really anything south of $2k is going to be appealing. If they manage to get IS on it as well - it'll be a killer.
