Office 2011 - worth getting for $9.95?
#1
Just noticed that I'm eligible to get Office 2011 for $9.95 through Micro$oft's Home Use Program.

I'm still on Office 2004; I remember installing 2008 and reverting after trying to use the Fluent User interface (aka the Ribbon).

So - has Office 2011 improved at all on the 2008 interface, or is it more of the same? Any other compelling reasons to upgrade to it?

SD,

$9.95? At that price, I'd buy it without giving it a second thought. If nothing else, it ensures compatibility with the newest flavors of the Mac OS and newer flavors of Office for Windows.

For $10, that's an easy yes.

Of course. 2011 is much better than 2004.

Since I think the biggest benefit of actually using office is compatibility, I'd upgrade so you actually have it. 'Course, if you never open files from someone else, I guess it doesn't make much difference. kj.

Outlook alone is worth $10 - if not to you, to someone else in your clan.

Yes, I bought it via the HUP for $10, and it's been worth it.

Oh yeah - compatibility...forgot about that.
Might as well get it, just for that reason alone - probably better to have it and not need it than the inverse...

Heck yes!

As long as it isn't the deal where you then have to pay an annual renewal.
