The Government May Be Charging Julian Assange

NPR--How A 'Court Records Nerd' Discovered The Government May Be Charging Julian Assange

"It was not immediately clear why Assange’s name was included in the document. Joshua Stueve, a spokesman for the Justice Department’s Eastern District of Virginia said, ‘The court filing was made in error. That was not the intended name for this filing.’

The filing was discovered by Seamus Hughes, a terrorism expert at the Program on Extremism at George Washington University, who posted it on Twitter hours after The Wall Street Journal reported that the Justice Department was preparing to prosecute Assange.

The case at issue concerns a defendant named Seitu Sulayman Kokayi, a 29-year-old teacher who has since been indicted on charges of enticing a 15-year-old girl to commit sex acts and to produce child pornography. There doesn’t appear to be any connection between Assange and Kokayi.

The since-unsealed document, a motion filed in late August, mentions Assange in two boilerplate sections, suggesting a copy-and-paste error or that his name was inadvertently left in a template used for the common filings." Quoted from Brinkwire

That was discussion. This is an update. Notice I did not call it news.

WHeReS JULIAN?

Max, you mentioned Bernie Sanders. Do you believe Seth Rich, a disinchanted Bernie Sanders supporter working at the DNC was the source of the Demo-dirt?

I am not worried about the source, as long as the facts are correct.
The "source" stories are a tool of the Democratic apparatchiks, designed to divert public attention from the multitude of their dirty deeds....

There was definitely an outrageous conspiracy involving the late Seth Rich. And it was instigated by a Trump supporter and Fox News.

In July this year 12 Russian intelligence officers were indicted for hacking into DNC emails, as part of the Mueller investigation. Um, hello conspiracy theorists and your leader Sean Hannity - it wasn't Seth Rich who leaked those emails, it was Russians.

I know conspiracy theories never die, long after they've been shown to be baloney. That's just how it works. Meanwhile the poor family of Seth Rich keep suing right wing media over how they used their son's death to push their own political agenda.

"On May 23, Fox News posts an unsigned statement retracting Zimmerman's online story.

The network does not apologize or explain what went wrong. "The article was not initially subjected to the high degree of editorial scrutiny we require for all our reporting," the statement reads. "Upon appropriate review, the article was found not to meet those standards and has since been removed."

A spokeswoman for the FBI tells NPR this week that the agency has played no part in the investigation of the unsolved homicide. And a spokeswoman for Washington's Metropolitan Police Department says, "MPD stands behind its original assertion that Seth Rich was the victim of a botched armed robbery."
