Enpass (password mgr) Users: Record your master password!
#1
I've been a satisfied Enpass user for years now. Normally I leave it running and when
needed bring it up and use a PIN# to unlock. Yesterday after doing some housekeeping
on my cMP, I did a reboot. When Enpass launched, my master password was needed.
Brain Freeze; it took seven tries to hit the right combination (13 characters).
I decided to check on PW recovery options @ Enpass Support.
There are none! They do not maintain the PW on their servers.

I forgot my Master Password. How can I reset Enpass?
Since there is no option to recover your master password, you need to reset Enpass.
...
I now have mine printed on a tape label hidden near my desk!

Back before I retired we had to change our passwords every 2 weeks - almost every computer had a sticky with the current password affixed to it.

This is typical of ALL password managers.

I use two password managers, 1Password at home and Dashlane at work. The installation process for both apps included very strongly worded statements that there is no way to retrieve one's master password if it is lost or forgotten.
