SOME LEDS ARE TOO BRIGHT JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN DOESNT MEAN YOU SHOULD

ITS MY DAMN USBC HUB WHICH I'M USING MOSTLY FOR ITS GIGABIT ETHERNET ADAPTER.

IT EVEN BLINKS WHEN UNPLUGGED FROM MY MAC (BUT PLUGGED INTO MY MONITOR) WHHHHHHYYYY

I think have some gaffers tape. Seriously though, its a status indicator not a dance party.

No, no, it is indeed a dance party! Unclench!

:agree:

And it’s not just computer-related devices: LED digital displays and power-on lights on all kinds of devices.

And at some point manufacturers of electronic devices switched from having an LED on while the device was on, to having to the LED turn on when the device was off. Very confusing, especially since not all devices do that. Sometimes green, red, white. MADNESS!

I have an Anker USB power hub next to my bed. I had to tape the little blue light first thing. Even pointing away from the bed it was still way too bright. No need for that.

It's like a disco dance party if I walk into my garage at night: Bike chargers (3), EGO mower charger, Bolt EV charger and dash status light, Rachio sprinkler controller.

Rather than string Christmas lights outdoors this season...I can just line up all of these devices outdoors.

I would love control of brightness/color on all alarm clocks. Thankfully most smartphones now have blackout themes and room brightness detection so they aren't so stupidly bright.

I use these: Lightdims Original Strenth

They make the LED’s tolerable.

I think the trend towards overly bright LED’s began when the blue ones came out. I remember that my Canopus firewire device 20 years ago was too bright even to use as a night light.

One of the backup lights on the truck burned out...so I went on Amazon and bought a pair of LED replacements..,bright enough that they're also sold as daytime running lights (DRLs)
