How close we came to murder of 1, 2 and 3 in line of succession
#1
They killed a police officer and were equipped for violence, including kidnapping and assassination.

Had they gotten to Pence, Pelosi and Grassley, that would have left trump cabinet members, starting with Pompeo, in the line after Trump and in charge of certifying the election and we can guess what Pompeo might have done.

Increasingly I think the failure of law enforcement was planned and deliberate at the highest level including the acting heads of defense and justice, both recently installed.

Gov. Hogan had to wait 90 minutes to receive authority to send his guard troops, who were standing by. Plenty of time for the plot to be completed.

It's heartbreaking to have our hurting country endure a long investigation but we have to have it. We need criminal charges of conspiracy to overthrow the govt against all involved .

You know, if nothing else, this whole sorry debacle helped make clear what side you were on.

Did the Capitol Chief of Police and the sergeant of arms of both the House and Senate know about the insurrection? They've all quit or been fired.

There was a retired general on TV last night that wondered if Capitol Police were expecting Cheeto to be coming with the mob.

Pelosi and McConnell asked the respective Sgts-at-Arms to resign. I had posed the question elsewhere if that was because both Sgts had authority to call for help but did not. Otherwise I can't think of why they did anything wrong.

I don't recall if the resignation of the Cap Chief also came from Pelosi and McConnell or from everyone else.

Cap Chief resignation was from Pelosi - she pointed out that even a day after everything had happened, he had not reached out to anyone in House leadership.

Sqt-at-Arms definitely had 'one job' - and they did not do that job. I'm surprised they didn't offer their resignation on their own.

I read yesterday the Union head spoke out against either him or the entire force, though. So that happened after?
