We have officially entered the "Complain about spring yard cleanup work"
#1
That's what we do do in 4 season New England.

Season 1
Complain about spring yard work/ winter cleanup

Season 2
Complain about summer humidity when you have yard work to do.

Season 3
Complain about all the falling leaves, shoorter days, closing the pool.

Season 4
Complain about the cold, snow and ice, short days.

Already spent about 10 hours on yard cleanup. Lots more to do, but I love
the yard when it looks so good.

I'm in the Midwest, but it was just a few weeks ago that I was shoveling snow off my roof and praying the ice dams didn't cause any major damage. That crisis is a faint memory, and in some ways it feels like that was several months ago.

We still have piles of snow around the yard, but I started this week with pine cone pickup. I filled our big green waste cart to the brim. The wind picked up that night and there's another 20 cones on the ground now. The city doesn't start green waste pickup until May 1.

If it's anything like last year, I'll have a truckload of pine cones and pine needles by that time.

It's "fall" in Florida. Not because of the temperatures, but all the leaves tend to fall off the trees in Feb/Mar to make room for the new leaves. I have a huge oak, and a camphor tree, so I've got leaves out the wazoo. Also have two large pink tabebuia trees (very pretty pink flowers) which are dropping flowers everywhere. Makes a pretty scene with a pink carpet of flowers on the lawn, but they're everywhere.

I'm trying to clean up the yard because we're getting ready to put the house up for sale. I also have two large orchid trees in the front which are in full bloom right now. Our agent says we need to trim them way back because they block the view of the house from the street. I'm waiting until the last moment to do it. Can't wait to plant new orchid trees at the new house.

We have just two seasons; winter and road construction. It’s still winter even though our snow is all gone.

This time of year here, it's difficult keeping the lawn mowed between rain showers.
