I would welcome Romney and other traditional Republicans breaking off into a third party. It would be a risky move but it would force compromise and may be the only thing to right the ship.

If Romney's version of conservatism had obtained this last 6 or 8 years, it may not have fomented Jan 6, but few of the legislative and judicial goals would be different.

They destroyed their party the second Trump was elected. As long as he's empowered to continue to wield power, they'll just get worse. Chris Christie is taking on the right posture now that it's convenient for him to do so.

The thing I wonder about is what happens to his cult after he dies? They currently don't seem to want any sort of imitation 45, only the real thing. Will this all fade away and possibly return to normal when he's dead?
