Great vid. It gave me an idea about the stupid power button location: turn it upside down. It has a fan, so it's not dependent on convection, right?

How often are people using the power button? I use mine about 3 times a year

Anytime there are thunderstorms forecast and we're not going to be home or awake they're turned off and unplugged. I guess we're old fashioned and extra cautious.

I hope you're saving your work to two different floppy disks as well!

There have been several days in the past week where we have lost power significantly enough to shut the computer down; I tend to leave mine up sleeping when I’m not actively working on it. And nothing quite like getting woken up in the middle of the night by a lightning strike which takes out some electronic thingy in the house. That is an unforgettable experience. Just because it has not happened to you (yet) doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

Get a bookend, and run the mini sideways.

That little Mini has too much going for itself to worry about the power button.

It's 100% sarcasm. It's a bad design, and a non-issue for many, but not everybody. Yet everywhere one goes, somebody just has to tell them it's non-issue for everybody because it's a non-issue for somebody. Occasionally it's in jest, mostly it's not. The level of incredulity that forces somebody to ask 'how often...' meaning 'I don't, why should you...' without regard to their preferences, expecting justification... That aside, that was a great video. Love his take on tech. None of the affectations that drive me nuts of the lesser presenters, which are ubiquitous. However — there is one thing that annoys me a fair bit, but not enough to quit watching — his frequent peering off screen. I'm thinking it's to a teleprompter/screen with bullet points. Or maybe a clock? Whatever it is, it seems like it would be unnecessary, since I seldom see it on the lesser presenters, but as I have no idea what it is, I won't make further speculation. And now I really want an m4.

It was an honest question. I didn't think there was much point nowadays turning a computer off and on. I stand corrected.
