anyonle else undecided about Leopard?
#1
I have a G4 PB, 15". 1.5 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM, 80 GB HDD
Wife has G4 iBook, 12.1", 1.33 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM, 60 HDD

I could get the family pack, money is not a big issues. But the only feature I really like is Time Machine. On the other hand I could save those 200 bucks and set up a nice backup scheme with Super Duper, CCC, Silver Keeper, (all of which are free or shareware), or an OEM copy or Retrospect Express (which I got with a OWC drive).

still undecided...

I have a Mac boy that does my computing. He's not allergic. I call him SmallGuy. He also does my pullies and planetary gearing.

I'm not upgrading (QS G4-867/iBook G4-1GHz). Instead I'll replace the desktop in the next 6 weeks and the laptop sometime next summer.

Yes. Watched the video. I'm excited about Mail but that's about it. I don't think I'd ever use Spaces or time machine.

Not undecided, but patient. I will wait until the horror stories end, and problems are fixed in X.5.1.
Apple should not have released it so close to Halloween.

I had been planning to buy it on release for months, but now in the last week, am holding back. Wondering how fast it will be on my G5 imac, and whether the new features are really worth $100+. If I could have gotten the edu price of $69, it would be on the way today. I am sure I will buy it at some point though.

This will be the 1st new OS I've ever bought. I got 10.2 on eBay years ago but I think 10.3 was already out by that time.

Silver Keeper was bad news when I tried it. Chronosync was worth the money.

I may install 10.5, since I am getting a copy for $10 with a recent refurb purchase. But when 10.4 came out there was a lot of problems with little stuff, keyboard drivers (I use a MS keyboard & mouse), printer drivers, etc. I will want to see what breaks before I convert.

I do have external drives now, so I can/will install it to the external to check it out right away.
