Does your browser ever display text that you can't really read?

This has been happening occasionally when I browse pages using Firefox 2, in Windows.

Used to be able to fix it by changing the character encoding settings from Western to Unicode or something else, but lately it hasn't been working. That may also have been using Explorer and I just don't remember.

The current problem site is actually the Apple Store main page. All the small text along the left and right outer columns is too small to read, and if I increase the font size it just appears so bold that I can't even make out the characters anymore.

It's like Firefox is trying to scale a bitmap character and it just comes out funny.

Ideas?
