Opinions on 24" Soyo Monitor?
#1
I've seen this monitor for sale at Office Max recently. They're the only ones I've seen who carry it, so I wonder if that's a house brand. Anyway, I see that it will be $249 on Black Friday at Office Max. Is it worth it? I'm thinking also of the Samsung 24" at Circuit City which is $329, however that's after $120 in Mail-in rebates, whereas the Soyo doesn't require a MIR. I was hoping for a better selection on 24" monitors on BF. Still waiting on CompUsa's ad to show up...

I've seen them at OfficeDepot and on-line places like Geeks and I think Amazon.

The OfficeDepot near my (just like Staples) does not have their monitors turned on.
No way to compare.

My Staples has a whopping four monitors on display, max. They have all sort of different ones in the back , so if you are browsing you'd think they had almost nothing. What they sell must be to people who get and read the fliers and on-line.

Don't buy it unless you're sure it doesn't suck.

The Samsung doesn't suck...

buy both, return the one you like the least, then do a good deed to make up for the karma hit.

I've got one. Mine hasn't missed a beat and has an excellent image quality. I wish I had
bought the extended warranty but was not offered it and didn't even think about until the
other day.

I wish I could remember where I read about the Soyo. Comments I remember were fine/adequate panel quality but cheap stand. No usb hub, very little adjustment up/down, etc. Oh...yeah, I remember now. The Soyo does NOT have DVI. Not sure about the Samsung. $249 is a rippin good price.

That's not true, it does have DVI and VGA. Mine has plenty of tilt adjustment but it is a little
tight on the adjustment. The stand is the cheapest part on it. It does have std. wall mount holes.

BTW Buzz: You should see it now.
