the Seagate settlement
#1
Just curious. How many here are participating in the Seagate hard drive settlement? I hate to even say it, but I'm wondering if it's worth the aggravation of submitting three claims along with all the photocopying and tracking and CYA involved, all for the end result of about $13.00.

Of those who are filing, is anyone opting for the "software benefit"? Any idea what the software actually is (and if it's Mac compatible)?

I passed. I think I had one drive that was eligible for $. The others just the crappy s/w.

I'm curious where all of the unclaimed money is gonna go.

You're right about the CYA..., "which of those old drives did we send in for the rebates...?"

"Sorry, your claim has been disallowed because you claimed the full retail price of $189.99, and our records show that you received a $15.00 rebate on that hard drive..."

I made an online claim, without realizing that means I can only get the software, not cash. Probably will be Windows software that will be useless to me.

since I know what a GB is, I don't feel like Seagate (or any other HD manufacturer) lied to me, thus I will not ask for anything from them.
